Fur Seals
The Antarctic Fur Seal was heavily hunted along with Whales during the 18th and 19th centuries. While whale populations are still struggling, the antarctic fur seal has recovered, and their colonies are expanding.

Fur Seal at Stromness Ruins
A fur seal at the ruins of the Stromness whaling station. Fur seals have been quick to recover their populations and have taken over the beaches here. Unfortunately the whale populations are hving a much more difficult time recovering.
